In the Spotlight
During the current website restructuring Aberdeen Proving Ground cares about you, the user. Our ultimate goal is to make the TeamAPG site a positive experience through design consistency, accuracy and relevance of information and ensuring all pages on Army.mil are able to be viewed and read by a screen reader through image tags and alternate text. In the future we look forward to expanding more customization options to you. We realize that one size doesn't fit all and our goal is to ensure we maintain a rewarding user experience and will come to rely on TeamAPG for information. Section 508 Accessibility InitiativeIn 1998, Congress amended the Rehabilitation Act and strengthened provisions covering access to information in the Federal sector for people with disabilities. As amended, Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act requires access to the Federal government's electronic and information technology. The law applies to all Federal agencies when they develop, procure, maintain, or use electronic and information technology. Federal agencies must ensure that this technology is accessible to employees and the public. If you find a problem that prevents access, please contact us by sending an e-mail to the Public Affairs Office. To read more about Section 508 Accessibility Initiative, visit http://www.section508.gov/. In the United States, Force Protection Condition (FPCON) is a terrorist threat system overseen by the Department of Defense. In line with this system, five FPCONs are utilized to dictate operations and activities at APG. FPCON descriptions follow: FPCON NORMAL: A situation with no current terrorist activity. FPCON ALPHA: A situation where there is a small and general terrorist activity that is not predictable. APG personnel are informed that there is a possible threat and standard security procedure reviews are conducted. FPCON BRAVO: A situation with somewhat predictable terrorist threat. Security measures taken by APG Security Personnel may affect the APG workforce, population, and, the general public. FPCON CHARLIE: A situation resulting from an incident that has occurred or when intelligence reports that there is terrorist activity imminent. FPCON DELTA: A situation when a terrorist attack is taking place or has just occurred. This FPCON usually occurs when APG is most vulnerable or has been attacked.
